License/Certification:
License in Veterinary Medicine in Florida (Required) Duties Perform thorough examinations and diagnose medical conditions using veterinary terminology and knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy. Administer treatments, vaccinations, and medications while ensuring proper aseptic techniques are followed for infection control. Handle animals with care and confidence, including dog handling, animal restraint, and animal husbandry practices to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Conduct laboratory tests and interpret results to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Assist with complex procedures such as animal catheterization, pet grooming, and laboratory sample collection. Educate pet owners on animal care, pet grooming, nutrition, and health maintenance to promote responsible pet ownership. Maintain detailed medical records, document procedures accurately, and communicate effectively with clients about treatment plans. Support emergency critical care situations by applying veterinary critical care experience in fast-paced environments. Contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of the clinic while adhering to strict aseptic techniques during all procedures. Collaborate with team members on case management involving both small animals and equine patients when applicable. Qualifications Proven veterinary experience with a strong foundation in animal handling, anatomy knowledge, and veterinary terminology. Demonstrated ability to perform animal restraint safely across various species including dogs and cats. Knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. Hands-on experience with laboratory testing, animal catheterization, and aseptic techniques. Strong communication skills for educating clients about pet care and treatment options. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
