Practice Great Medicine. Have a Voice. Enjoy Where You Work. Tuscawilla Oaks Animal Hospital (TOAH) is a privately owned, veterinarian-led small animal hospital in Oviedo, Florida . We're looking for an Associate Veterinarian who wants to practice high-quality medicine in a hospital where doctors have the autonomy to make good clinical decisions—and where their ideas actually matter. We believe veterinarians should have a career they enjoy without giving up their life outside of work. Our doctors enjoy a 4-day workweek, generous PTO, profit sharing, and a supportive environment designed to make practicing medicine sustainable. We take medicine seriously, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. Our team works hard, laughs often, supports one another through the difficult cases, and celebrates the wins together. And because we believe the future of veterinary medicine needs strong independent practices, we're also open to a future buy-in opportunity for the right veterinarian interested in practice ownership. Why Tuscawilla Oaks? We're not looking for someone to simply fill a schedule. We're looking for a veterinarian who wants to become part of our hospital. You'll have the opportunity to: Enjoy a 4-day workweek Practice medicine with clinical autonomy Work alongside experienced veterinarians and a skilled support team Manage a diverse small animal caseload Perform surgery, dentistry, and oral surgery in-house Collaborate on challenging cases rather than practice in isolation Develop your clinical interests and continue growing professionally Have your own space in our large, dedicated associate veterinarian office Help shape the future of a privately owned veterinary hospital Explore a potential path to practice ownership Experienced veterinarians are welcome, and we're equally interested in newer graduates looking for strong mentorship and the opportunity to develop their skills. What We Offer We want our doctors to build a career here—not burn out here. Our compensation and benefits package includes: 4-day workweek Competitive compensation Profit sharing Sign-on bonus Relocation assistance for the right candidate Comprehensive health and dental insurance Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) Continuing Education allowance 401(k) with employer contribution Generous employee pet care benefits Large, dedicated associate veterinarian office Supportive, experienced veterinary and technical team Privately owned environment where your input matters Potential future buy-in/ownership opportunity What You'll Do As an Associate Veterinarian, you'll practice comprehensive small animal medicine and surgery while working closely with our veterinary and support teams.
Your role will include:
Performing physical examinations and developing diagnostic and treatment plans Managing medical and preventive-care cases Interpreting laboratory results and diagnostic imaging Performing routine soft-tissue surgery Performing dental procedures and oral surgery Communicating clearly and compassionately with clients Maintaining thorough, accurate medical records Collaborating with technicians, assistants, and fellow veterinarians Participating in case discussions and continuing education An interest in surgery and dentistry is especially welcome. Who We're Looking For You'll need: DVM or equivalent veterinary degree Eligibility for Florida veterinary licensure Strong interest in small animal general practice Good clinical judgment and communication skills Confidence in—or a desire to develop—surgical and dental skills A collaborative approach to medicine Commitment to compassionate, high-quality patient care Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to be part of a team. If you're looking for a hospital where you can practice excellent medicine, work a 4-day week, have a voice in how you practice, enjoy the people you work with, and potentially have the opportunity to become an owner someday , we'd like to talk with you. Come build something with us. Bonus points if you enjoy surgery, don't mind the occasional anal gland surprise, and understand that veterinary medicine is equal parts science, compassion, teamwork—and controlled chaos!
