Job Summary Live and work near the beach. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our veterinary practice located in the beautiful "Golden Isle Area" in southeast Georgia between Savannah and Jacksonville. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care, veterinary critical care experience, and excellent animal handling skills. This role involves providing comprehensive medical care to a diverse range of animals, including dogs, cats, and pocket pets , ensuring their health and well-being through diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care. The Veterinarian will work closely with a team of veterinary professionals to deliver exceptional pet care services in a supportive and professional environment. Duties Conduct thorough examinations and diagnose health issues in animals using veterinary terminology and knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy. Perform medical procedures including preventative care, internal medicine, dentistry and surgery Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments tailored to each animal's needs. Assist with laboratory testing and interpret results to inform diagnosis and treatment plans. Provide emergency critical care for animals requiring urgent attention. Educate pet owners on animal husbandry, pet care, nutrition, and preventive health strategies. Maintain detailed medical records accurately and ensure compliance with veterinary standards. Requirements Veterinary degree from an accredited institution with valid licensure to practice veterinary medicine within the United States. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate pet owners and collaborate with team members. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining compassion for animals. Prior experience of 2-5 years in veterinary medicine and surgery is preferred but not mandatory. Practice owner is looking to semi retire within the next 2-3 years and would be very interested in someone seeking ownership/partnership of this wonderful, personable small animal privately owned practice. This practice is fully equipped with brand new digital xray, ultrasound, therapy and surgical laser, CBC, Abaxis and Index machines. 4 exam rooms with room for expansion Currently 1 full time veterinarians with a 4 day work week No weekend or emergency duty
