Trans Ova Genetics is seeking a Herd Health and Regulatory Services Veterinarian to lead animal health compliance, export certification, and veterinary oversight while supporting the health and welfare of cattle involved in industry-leading reproductive programs. This is a unique opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys combining herd health, reproductive technologies, regulatory leadership, and hands-on veterinary medicine in a production agriculture environment. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with operational teams, veterinarians, regulatory agencies, and industry partners to ensure compliance with domestic and international animal health requirements while supporting the global movement of bovine genetics. From export certification and biosecurity oversight to herd health initiatives and veterinary procedures, your expertise will directly contribute to advancing cattle genetics around the world. Whether your background is in large-animal practice, dairy production, beef production, bovine reproduction, or regulatory medicine, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while helping shape the future of animal agriculture. Responsibilities Serve as the primary veterinary authority for animal health compliance, export certification, and regulatory oversight activities. Oversee domestic and international animal health requirements, diagnostic testing programs, export documentation, donor eligibility, facility compliance, and regulatory recordkeeping. Review and authorize animal health certificates, export paperwork, and testing documentation. Lead regulatory audits, inspections, certification programs, and compliance initiatives. Monitor evolving domestic and international animal health requirements and communicate impacts to operational teams. Partner with quality assurance, donor housing, and recipient operations teams to support biosecurity, disease prevention, animal health monitoring, and herd health programs. Provide veterinary leadership for calf health, disease management, treatment protocols, and animal welfare initiatives. Perform veterinary procedures, including Caesarean sections, navel surgeries, and other medical or surgical interventions as needed. Maintain accurate medical, regulatory, and export records. Support employee education and training related to animal health, biosecurity, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent and eligibility for veterinary licensure in Iowa. Experience working with cattle production, bovine reproduction, dairy, beef, or large-animal veterinary medicine. Strong understanding of cattle health, disease prevention, biosecurity, and herd health management practices. Experience performing cattle surgical procedures and providing veterinary care in a production agriculture setting. Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills with exceptional attention to detail. Experience with animal health certification programs, international export requirements, regulatory compliance activities, or USDA accreditation is highly valued. Familiarity with embryo transfer, bovine reproductive technologies, or production agriculture environments is beneficial. Certification through the American Embryo Transfer Association (AETA), or the ability and willingness to obtain certification.
