Job Description

Company DescriptionKent Veterinary Clinic is seeking a compassionate, driven Associate Veterinarian to join our team in Amite City, Louisiana — a friendly small town in the heart of Tangipahoa Parish with genuine Southern charm and easy access to nature, water, and community life. Whether you're a recent DVM graduate or an experienced veterinarian looking for a change of pace, this is a great opportunity to build a rewarding career in a welcoming community.

Why Amite City, Louisiana?

Relocating is a big decision, so here is why so many people fall in love with life in and around
Amite City:
A true small-town parish seat. Incorporated in 1861, Amite City sits at the center of Tangipahoa Parish and is easily accessible from anywhere in the area, giving it that classic small-town feel without being out of the way.

Famous for its oysters. Amite is well known for its oyster industry, dating back to 1949, and every March the town hosts the beloved Amite Oyster Festival, complete with an oyster-eating contest, a chili cook-off, carnival rides, and live music.

A parish fair tradition since 1888. The Tangipahoa Parish Fair has been a longstanding local tradition since 1888, bringing the community together every year with livestock shows, beauty pageants, live music, and good old-fashioned fun.

State park adventure just minutes away. Tickfaw State Park sits about 15 minutes from town and offers hiking trails, picnic areas, and fishing and canoeing along the Tickfaw River, making it an easy escape into nature after a day at the clinic.

Rivers made for slowing down. The Amite River offers scenic fishing, kayaking, and birdwatching right in the area, with peaceful riverbanks perfect for a picnic or an afternoon outdoors.

Local flavor worth savoring. From the seafood platters at Mike's Catfish Inn to the bold flavors at Coop DeVille, Amite's food scene has a genuine small-town charm with plenty of local favorites to explore.

History and hospitality. The Amite City Museum, founded in 1986 by local citizens dedicated to preserving the community's history and culture, is a great window into the town's roots and its people.

Close to more, without losing the quiet. Amite City is about 30 minutes from Hammond, home to a vibrant downtown with historic architecture and parks, and both New Orleans and Baton Rouge are within reach for a bigger night out whenever you're in the mood.
