Pet Care Plus offers a diverse mix of primary care, same-day urgent care, and surgical referral services. Our varied caseload allows our veterinarians to build lasting relationships with patients and clients while gaining valuable experience in urgent medicine, diagnostics, and surgery. Responsibilities Provide primary and preventive care, including wellness examinations, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and ongoing health management. Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and urgent medical conditions in dogs and cats. Develop practical treatment plans and communicate diagnoses, recommendations, costs, and follow-up care clearly with pet owners. Perform routine surgical procedures based on experience and comfort level. Participate in urgent-care and surgical referral cases with appropriate mentorship and support. Administer and monitor sedation and general anesthesia using established safety protocols. Provide dental care and assist with the diagnosis and treatment of internal medicine cases. Interpret laboratory results, digital radiographs, urinalysis findings, and other diagnostic information. Maintain complete and accurate medical records. Work collaboratively with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and client-service staff. Practice compassionate medicine while maintaining professional and ethical standards. Stay current with developments in veterinary medicine through continuing education and professional development. Qualifications and Skills Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited veterinary school. Current Michigan veterinary license or eligibility to obtain one. Strong knowledge of companion-animal medicine, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and preventive care. Ability to safely examine, handle, and treat dogs and cats. Familiarity with anesthesia, sedation, diagnostic testing, and emergency stabilization. Surgical experience is welcomed but not required for new graduates. Strong communication and client-education skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative veterinary team. Compassionate, dependable, and committed to high-quality patient care.
