Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Shelter Veterinarian to join our dynamic animal care team. Duties Conduct thorough medical examinations and diagnose health issues in shelter animals using veterinary terminology and clinical ethical guidelines. Perform surgical procedures including general anesthesia, veterinary surgery, and dentistry with precision and aseptic technique. Administer emergency medicine and critical & intensive care treatments to stabilize animals in urgent need. Manage internal medicine cases such as cardiology, oncology, animal physiology, and other specialized areas to ensure optimal health outcomes. Handle exotic animals and provide specialized care for diverse species, demonstrating animal restraint and handling skills. Collaborate with shelter staff on animal husbandry, grooming, catheterization, and other aspects of animal care and animal anatomy knowledge. Communicate effectively with clients and team members about medical conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies. Maintain accurate veterinary records, laboratory results, and treatment logs while adhering to all veterinary internal medicine standards. Skills Extensive veterinary experience with proficiency in veterinary medicine, surgery, dentistry, anesthesiology, and emergency medicine. Strong knowledge of animal restraint techniques, animal handling, pet grooming, and pet care practices. Expertise in veterinary terminology, laboratory procedures, and internal medicine disciplines such as cardiology and oncology. Ability to perform general anesthesia safely across various species with a focus on aseptic technique. Familiarity with exotic animal medicine and equine experience is a plus for diverse case management. Excellent client communication skills combined with professional ethics to foster trust and transparency. Demonstrated capability in critical & intensive care settings along with laboratory experience for diagnostic purposes.
