May inspect livestock used for food and check compliance with food safety regulations, or work in laboratories doing clinical research on animal and human diseases.

Job Description

Atlantic Equine Services - our satellite practice located in Hampton Bays, Long Island, NY - is seeking an Associate Equine Veterinarian to join the team. We offer comprehensive expertise in the management of your sport horse. Our services include lameness diagnosis, performance assessment, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, advanced treatment options, and innovative rehabilitation. Our founder, Dr. Omar Maher, is a world-respected expert in lameness and sports medicine and has practiced equine veterinary medicine in four continents. Dr. Maher is board certified in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (ACVSMR) as well as Equine Surgery (ACVS). Our eight-veterinarian practice provides exceptional care throughout the Northeast, New England, and Florida. Position Overview We are a practice of 2 equine veterinarians, 2 veterinary assistants and 1 Office Manager. Our practice primarily focuses on local USEF and FEI level horses for ambulatory care, sports medicine, and emergency/critical care.
Practice Mix:
60% Sports Medicine 25% General Practice 15%
Emergency/Critical Care Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00
PM On Call:
Every 3rd weekend
Caseload:
Immediately available - 4-5 patients per day We are a close-knit, collaborative team with strong focus on quality patient care and client relationships. This would be a particularly strong opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys sport-horse medicine but still wants variety, with the majority of the caseload centered around performance and sports medicine.
