The [3] ER Immerse Program will prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to be different than traditional rotating internship programs, the ERi program has been developed around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian. In addition to providing training around clinical knowledge and skills, the program also includes a focus on client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration. The ER Immerse program utilizes a hybrid training approach incorporating simulation-based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. The curriculum is designed using an evidence-based strategy identifying competencies and skills deemed essential for a successful career as an emergency clinician.Applications:
Applications are accepted year-round; however, mentorship positions are limited. To maximize your chances of securing a placement, we recommend submitting your application by November 1st. Applications received after this date will be considered as opportunities remain available. Work authorization in the United States is a requirement for the position. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the company, but candidates eligible for TN status may be considered.Program Duration/Commitment:
6-9 month training program beginning June/July (Flexible if needed) 2-year commitment as an ER clinician at Capital District Veterinary Referral Hospital Location Capital District Veterinary Referral Hospital- 222 Troy Schenectady Rd, Latham, NY 12110 Program Highlights 4-day work week consisting of 3 clinical days and 1 didactic day Rotate with other specialty services during the training program Surgical training offered Always work with a dedicated mentor on shifts No on-call Competency-based curriculum that includes asynchronous learning on Vetbloom and weekly live virtual didactic rounds Regular live continuing education events led by specialists and experienced emergency doctors
