Job Description

Hershey Animal Emergency Center is a 24/7/365 ER facility which opened in June of 2023. We are searching for a full time or part time experienced ER veterinarian to join our team. Our privately owned hospital focuses on providing compassionate, quality emergency care to our community. Teamwork, camaraderie, and a great work life balance are very important to us. We currently have 14 veterinarians and over 85 support staff and are continuing to grow. Our hospital is equipped with new modern equipment, full Idexx in house laboratory, 2 EPOCs, digital xray, 3 ultrasound machines, 4 Snyder ICU oxygen cages, a special procedure room for ultrasound and endoscopy, ligasure machine with electrocautery and vessel sealers, Digital cytology machine for specialist read reports within 2 hours, separate cat and dog ICU wards, ventilator, in house blood bank, therapy laser, and Instinct practice management system which includes fully electronic whiteboard/treatment sheets. Our awesome ER technicians place nasogastric tubes, sampling lines, central lines, catheterize female dogs/cats, place fecal foley catheters, monitor blood/plasma transfusions, and are recover CPR certified. Our technician/Dr ratio averages 3:1 on both dayshift and overnight. We pride ourselves on appropriate staffing to allow for excellent patient care. This means our inpatient nurses average only 4-5 inpatients/nurse. (option available to not perform surgeries). Continuous, flexible mentorship via our medical director, owners and experienced veterinarians Privately owned practice with an open door policy to our hospital owners. Our Full time Doctors are scheduled for 3, 12 hour shifts per week. Cluster scheduling is available to allow for up to 7 days in a row OFF.
