We are seeking a passionate, skilled, and adaptable Contract PRN Veterinarian to provide exceptional medical oversight for our diverse population of animals, with a strong emphasis on avian and exotic species. Position Overview As a PRN Veterinarian, you will ensure the health and well-being of our animals through a mix of scheduled routine care and responsive virtual medicine. This is a flexible, contract role designed for a practitioner who thrives on autonomy and possesses deep expertise in non-traditional species.
Primary Responsibilities Quarterly Exams:
Conduct comprehensive, scheduled quarterly health evaluations on all animals within the Vivid Horizon Program to ensure optimal health and regulatory compliance.
Virtual Care & Prescribing:
Provide timely virtual consultations, video exams, and triage for both routine health inquiries and complex medical issues. Manage prescriptions and treatment plans remotely when appropriate.
Exotic & Avian Care:
Diagnose, treat, and manage care for a variety of species, specializing heavily in avian and exotic medicine.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the Vivid Horizon program handlers and management team to advise on husbandry, nutrition, and preventative care protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements Licensure:
Must hold an active, unrestricted Veterinary License in the state of North Carolina and a current DEA registration.
Experience:
Proven experience and high comfort level diagnosing and treating avian and exotic species is strictly required.
Telehealth Savvy:
Comfortable utilizing digital platforms for virtual exams, video consultations, and electronic medical record-keeping.
Flexibility:
Ability to provide PRN support, balancing scheduled quarterly visits with ad-hoc virtual consultations for emergent or complex issues. What We Offer Competitive contract/PRN rates.
