Veterinarian Personal Specs Hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited veterinary school. Have a valid SC DVM license, DEA controlled drug license, and SC DHEC controlled drug license. Stay up to day on the latest procedures and techniques in veterinary medicine through continuing education. Perform physical exams, diagnostics, surgical, and dental procedures. Diagnose and treat small animal. Prescribe medications and administer treatments. Maintain proper medical records.
