Emergency Veterinarian Southwest Animal Emergency Clinic St. George, UT Full-Time A Little About Us Southwest Animal Emergency Clinic has been the trusted emergency and critical care provider for St. George and the surrounding region for years, serving pets and families across Southwest Utah, Southeast Nevada, and Northwest Arizona. We are a dedicated emergency practice — open weeknights from 5PM to 8AM and 24 hours on weekends and holidays — providing compassionate, state-of-the-art emergency and critical care medicine and surgery when it matters most. Our team is known in the community for exactly what emergency medicine demands: fast, skilled, and genuinely caring. Pet owners drive from across the tri-state region to bring their animals to us, and we take that trust seriously every single shift. Located in St. George, Utah, you'll enjoy one of the most stunning places in the American West — red rock landscapes, Zion National Park, endless outdoor recreation, and a warm, welcoming community that is one of the fastest-growing regions in the country. You'll Never Practice Alone At Southwest Animal Emergency, a veterinarian is always on-site during operating hours. You'll work alongside a dedicated team of technicians who are committed to supporting you through every case — from stabilization to surgery to after-hours hospitalization. Each hospitalized patient is assigned a specific technician, ensuring organized, high-quality care around the clock. You'll be supported by: Dedicated veterinary technicians assigned to individual patient care A team culture built on organization, communication, and clinical excellence Support staff experienced in emergency stabilization and critical care A close-knit team that genuinely looks out for each other and the patients The Facility & Medicine Our clinic is equipped to handle a wide range of emergency and critical care cases with in-house diagnostics, imaging, and surgical capabilities. You can expect:
A diverse and fast-paced emergency caseload across a large tri-state service area In-house laboratory with Catalyst One, Procyte DX, UA Analyzer, Sedivue, and Coag analyzers Radiology including X-ray and ultrasound Full emergency surgery capabilities After-hours hospitalization with dedicated technician oversight No appointment needed — true walk-in emergency access for the community Scheduling & Work-Life Balance We understand that emergency medicine is demanding, and we are committed to building a schedule that supports both outstanding patient care and personal sustainability. Our shift structure is designed to give you predictability and rest between shifts, with flexibility built in wherever possible. Weeknight shifts (5PM-8AM) and weekend/holiday 24-hour coverage Flexible scheduling options tailored to your availability and life outside work Collaborative approach to building a schedule that genuinely works for you A sustainable workload that respects your well-being and longevity in emergency medicine Who We're Looking For DVM or equivalent from an accredited institution Internship training preferred but not required Strong clinical skills in emergency triage, stabilization, and critical care Comfort with emergency surgery and in-house diagnostics Excellent communication skills with clients in high-stress situations A compassionate, team-first mindset and a passion for emergency medicine Both experienced emergency veterinarians and motivated early-career doctors are encouraged to apply.
