Duties Perform thorough examinations, diagnoses, and treatments for a variety of animals, ensuring adherence to clinical ethical guidelines and veterinary standards. Conduct animal restraint, handling, and care using safe and humane techniques to facilitate procedures such as laboratory testing, animal catheterization, and pet grooming. Administer anesthesia (including general anesthesia), monitor vital signs during surgical procedures, and manage critical & intensive care cases with precision. Carry out veterinary surgeries ranging from routine spays/neuters to complex procedures like oncology treatments or cardiology interventions. Provide emergency medicine services, including stabilization of critically ill animals and emergency response protocols. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and preventive care to ensure optimal pet care and client satisfaction. Maintain accurate medical records using veterinary terminology and ensure compliance with all safety protocols related to aseptic technique and laboratory procedures. Skills Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, internal medicine, dentistry, and surgery across various species including companion animals and exotics. Proficiency in animal restraint, handling techniques for dogs, cats, and other species; experience with equine or exotic animal medicine is a plus. Skilled in anesthesiology, general anesthesia administration, patient monitoring during surgical procedures, and critical care management. Familiarity with veterinary internal medicine topics such as cardiology, oncology, laboratory diagnostics, and emergency medicine practices. Excellent client communication skills to educate pet owners on health issues and treatment options confidently. Ability to perform animal husbandry tasks including grooming and basic animal care routines while maintaining high standards of animal welfare. Knowledge of veterinary terminology combined with clinical ethical guidelines ensures responsible decision-making in all situations.
