A Veterinarian provides medical care to animals. Diagnoses and treats illnesses and injuries. Specializes in treating either pets and small domesticated animals, or large animals and livestock, or wild animals. May work on farms, in zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, in animal shelters, or in hospitals or clinics that specialize in caring for animals. May inspect livestock used for food and check compliance with food safety regulations, or work in laboratories doing clinical research on animal and human diseases.

Created by a shelter Veterinarian, Shelter Vet On-the-Go was developed with both Veterinarians and animal welfare organizations in mind. By providing regularly scheduled onsite care to animal welfare organizations, we are decreasing the logistics and resources required to find offsite veterinary care while also maximizing the use of our Veterinarian time and expertise. This unique practice model encourages an efficient use of Veterinarian time in order to be able to provide the most quality care to the most animals. We prioritize work-life balance, and are designed to allow Veterinarians the flexibility to help create their own schedule with as many or as few regularly scheduled weekly hours as they'd like.
