Heat Press/Embroidery Operator

Job Description:

This position works with heat press equipment to decorate products with company logos for retail sale but will also work with embroidery equipment as needed. The decorated items include various types of clothing, bags and hats. The position also assists with cutting and weeding of company logos. This position will be required to follow company standards for decorating products. The job requires standing for long periods of time and repetitive motions of the arms and hands. This position also involves direct interaction with other production and administrative personnel within the company. We will provide any needed training on our type of machines. Some overtime may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Use computer-based system to retrieve orders and look up product images
• Read orders to determine the type and location of logo appropriate for each product
• Review order for garment style, size, and quantity prior to beginning production
• Select appropriate transfer for garment, based on fabric type and product description
• Use heat press to apply logo to garment
• Fold, trim and package garments
• Maintaining and lubricating equipment based on manufacturers' recommendations
• Cutting transfer sheets into individual logos from manufacturers, and weeding transfers produced on site
• Determine size, color thread and embroidery hoop needed based upon garment
• Select and load digitized logo and embroider logo onto garments
• Observe embroidery machine operation for quality and to detect defects
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience with apparel, apparel decoration and/or sewing a plus
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Basic math and computer skills
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and occasionally lift 40 lbs.
