Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Apprentice and kick-start your career in the essential field of climate control and mechanical systems! This paid apprenticeship offers hands-on training under experienced technicians, allowing you to develop comprehensive skills in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair. Duties Assist senior technicians with installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems such as air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to support system troubleshooting and installation. Perform routine maintenance tasks including filter replacements, system inspections, and equipment cleaning to ensure optimal operation. Support field service activities by diagnosing mechanical issues using tools like ohmmeters and troubleshooting electrical components. Help with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, including pipe fitting and refrigerant line connections. Participate in welding and equipment repair activities for HVAC components when necessary. Maintain accurate records of service work performed, parts used, and system conditions for reporting purposes. Skills Basic understanding of construction principles related to HVAC installation and property maintenance. Prior experience as a service technician or in appliance repair is advantageous. Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents accurately. Mechanical knowledge of refrigeration cycles, air conditioning systems, boilers, and ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable. Familiarity with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical issues. Knowledge of plumbing systems associated with HVAC setups. Experience with field service operations including equipment repair and maintenance routines. Strong mechanical aptitude combined with welding skills for component fabrication or repair projects.
