Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled Heavy Construction Equipment/Truck Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and diesel trucks used in construction and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience repairing heavy equipment and trucks and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience and familiarity with OEM parts are highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to work with diverse equipment including excavators, compact machines, dozers, forklifts, and tractor-trailers, ensuring their optimal performance and safety. Duties Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy construction equipment, trucks, and industrial machinery using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmission servicing, hydraulic system repairs, suspension adjustments, and air brake system inspections. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, and power tools. Troubleshoot electrical systems including wiring, sensors, and control modules; perform electrical repairs and replacements. Repair and maintain specialized machinery such as excavators, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Use heavy lifting techniques safely when handling large components or equipment parts. Perform wheel alignments, tire services, and suspension adjustments to ensure proper operation of machinery. Maintain detailed service records and follow OEM specifications for repairs. Assist with equipment assembly or reassembly after repairs or modifications. Ensure all work complies with safety standards including proper use of hand tools, power tools, and adherence to safety protocols for heavy equipment operation. Skills Proven mechanic experience with heavy construction equipment or trucks. Strong understanding of OEM parts catalogs and schematics for diagnostics and repairs. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics software and electrical troubleshooting. Knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, air brake systems, diesel engines, welding techniques, and tire service. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately. Skilled in fabrication using welding equipment; soldering experience is beneficial. Familiarity with heavy lifting procedures and the safe operation of heavy equipment during maintenance tasks. Mechanical knowledge of industrial equipment, excavators, forklifts, tractors-trailers—experience working with Caterpillar or similar brands preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a workshop or field environment in all weather conditions. This position requires a motivated individual with strong technical skills who is committed to quality workmanship and safety compliance in all aspects of heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
