Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, including diesel engines and farm equipment. This role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. This can be a part to full-time position to suit the employee. This position requires independent work with little supervision. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in heavy equipment, including but not limited to diesel engines, HVAC systems, and electrical components. Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Assemble and transmit parts as needed for repairs and maintenance tasks. Conduct welding tasks as required for equipment repair and fabrication. Work with various types of heavy equipment, including Caterpillar machinery and farm machinery. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory. Adhere to safety protocols while working in the shop or on-site. Qualifications Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role. Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engine repair, electrical systems, and welding techniques. Familiarity with Class 8 trucks, earth moving machinery, and farm equipment is preferred. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively and efficiently. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently. Valid driver's license may be required based on job location.
