Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Power Curbers rebuild center. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and refurbishing heavy machinery, with strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting abilities. This role requires a motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a team to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently to meet customer needs and expectations

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on heavy equipment. Perform welding and fabrication as needed. Read and interpret schematics, and technical manuals. Maintain accurate service records and documentation. Keep the shop clean and organized; assist with inventory control. Communicate job progress and equipment status to management.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

Mechanical knowledge of engines, hydraulics, and complex machinery. Technical ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and read schematics. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precision repairs. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in confined spaces, outdoors, or on ladders. Physically able to lift up to 100 lbs. Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Clear verbal and written communication in English. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Experience:

Welding and fabrication skills. Knowledge of slipform curbing machines and concrete applications. Experience refurbishing and repairing heavy equipment. Familiarity with electric and hydraulic systems.

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
