Bellevue, MI 49021 — must be within 20 miles Role Summary We are looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our farming operations team. This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring demonstrated proficiency operating large agricultural equipment. You will contribute across tillage, grain-handling, and transport operations, as well as supporting equipment and facility maintenance year-round. No two days are identical — we need someone who can shift priorities and pitch in wherever the operation needs them. What You'll Be Doing Operate high-horsepower tractors and tillage equipment across large acreage Run grain-handling equipment including augers, conveyors, grain carts, and elevator systems Drive semi-trucks and grain wagons for on-farm and road transport of commodities and inputs Conduct pre-operation equipment inspections and preventative maintenance Perform mechanical repairs on tractors, tillage equipment, and other farm machinery Support facility maintenance on grain bins, handling systems, and farm infrastructure Assist with whatever the operation needs on a given day — versatility is valued here What We're Looking For 2+ years of verifiable experience operating heavy agricultural or construction equipment Comfortable in the cab of large equipment and able to operate it accurately and efficiently Solid mechanical knowledge — capable of diagnosing and making field repairs Lives within 20 miles of Bellevue, MI 49021 Flexible with hours and daily tasks — willing to do what's needed when it's needed Positive, team-oriented attitude and genuine commitment to the work Ability to work independently with minimal supervision once trained Sound judgment and safety-conscious mindset around large equipment Requirements Valid Driver's License (Required) Minimum 1-2 years operating tractors or equivalent heavy equipment Ability to commute to or relocate within 20 miles of Bellevue, MI 49021 before start date Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred) Preferred Qualifications (Not Required) CDL (Class A or B) or willingness to obtain — we will support the right candidate Experience with GPS-guided equipment or precision ag displays Familiarity with John Deere, Case IH, or equivalent late-model equipment Farm background or understanding of crop production cycles Compensation & Benefits Performance-based bonuses Flexible scheduling built around operational needs Work directly alongside ownership and management Long-term opportunity with a growing, modern farming operation About McElmurry Farms McElmurry Farms LLC is a family-owned commercial crop operation producing Corn, Soybeans, and Wheat across approximately 4,200 acres in Eaton and Barry Counties, Michigan.
