Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Equipment & Truck Fleet Mechanic, where your expertise will keep our fleet running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of heavy machinery, industrial equipment, and commercial trucks. Your skills will ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance across our operations. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about machinery maintenance and repair. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment including Excavators, Backhoes, forklifts, and other large machinery using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and hydraulic system servicing to prevent downtime. Fabricate parts and components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, and power tools to ensure equipment longevity. Repair and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, HVAC units, shocks & struts, and electrical systems with precision. Utilize heavy equipment operation skills to troubleshoot issues on-site or in the shop; operate machinery safely during repairs. Interpret schematics and technical diagrams to identify faults and determine repair procedures for complex industrial equipment. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and vehicle maintenance; dealership experience is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical components. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiar with assembly of industrial equipment. Ability to read schematics accurately and perform automotive diagnostics efficiently. Proficient with hand tools, power tools, tire service equipment, and other maintenance tools required for heavy machinery repair. Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers or farm machinery is preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer service mindset to support internal teams or clients effectively. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in various environmental conditions; valid certification in safety standards is a plus.
