Heavy Machine Operator

The heavy machine operator is responsible for configuring attachments and machinery to perform bending, forming, and balancing operations on heavy-duty equipment.

Responsibilities :

Operate equipment to meet expected hourly production rates. Frequent physical, mental, and visual activity. Perform first-part inspections and record data for each job. Perform tasks necessary to operate the machines, including operating controls and monitoring conditions of the equipment being used. Configure fixtures and machinery to perform bending, forming, and balancing operations on various pieces of equipment. Visually inspect the job during execution for bursts, broken punches, etc., Work from shop orders, compare parts with drawings and use fixed gauges. Movement of material, parts, or containers. Connect safety devices before starting machinery. Notify the person performing the assembly of difficulties with dies or equipment malfunctions. Use micrometers, scales, and fixed gauges and record inspection results. Follow prescribed safety practices, using all safety devices supplied. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

Some use of adding and subtracting. 2 and up to 3 months of previous experience with various inspection machines, tools, parts and equipment.

Physical requirements:

Heavy physical effort loading and unloading parts Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. Preferable to speak English Standing for long periods of time
