Heavy Wrecker & both Heavy/ Light duty rollback Operator, roll off truck driver

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Wrecker Operator to join our team. As an Operator, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to customer service, driving, and operating light duty rollbacks. This position requires manual transmission experience and the ability to operate a Heavy Duty Wrecker and / or a Heavy or Light duty Rollback. Duties:

• Provide exceptional customer service while assisting with vehicle breakdowns, spill clean up and wrecked vehicle recoveries Respond to rotation calls within 30 minutes for light duty, 30-45 minutes for Heavy Duty
• Operate a flatbed tow truck to transport vehicles to designated locations
• keep trucks clean
• keep up with the equipment and tools
• keep the shop and impound lots clean and in order
• restock response trailer and wreckers/ rollback as needed
• Load and unload vehicles onto the tow truck safely and efficiently
• Perform basic automotive diagnostics and repairs as needed, ( for mechanics)
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Maintain accurate records of services provided and complete necessary paperwork

Qualifications:

• Valid CDL Class A driver's license for heavy wrecker or Non CDL for light duty rollback, with a clean driving record Pass a DOT Physical Have at least 3 years over the road driving experience, ( for CDL drivers) Be willing to take call nights at least 2 nights a week, and every other week end. Job can be strenuous and requires heavy lifting at times
• have a clean criminal history
• pass a pre employment drug screen
• Experience operating manual transmission vehicles, (CDL drivers)
• Previous experience operating a heavy wrecker is required
• must be certifiEd
• General mechanical knowledge and ability to perform basic automotive repairs
• perform pre-trip and post trip inspections on equipment
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Ability to load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently
• Strong problem-solving skills and pays attention to detail Job requires quick reponse so must live within a 20 mile radius or be willing to relocate
