High-End Millwork Wood Finisher

Overview We are seeking a skilled High-End Millwork Wood Finisher to join our custom woodworking team. The ideal candidate has experience producing luxury-quality finishes on architectural millwork, cabinetry, furniture, and custom wood components for high-end residential and commercial projects. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong knowledge of finishing materials and techniques, and the ability to consistently deliver furniture-grade results. Key Responsibilities Prepare wood surfaces through sanding, filling, and cleaning processes Apply stains, dyes, sealers, lacquers, varnishes, paints, and specialty finishes Perform custom color and stain matching Operate spray equipment including HVLP and conventional spray systems Finish custom cabinetry, doors, trim, wall panels, and architectural millwork Inspect finished products to ensure premium quality standards Repair scratches, dents, and finish imperfections Maintain clean and organized spray booth and finishing area Read and follow shop drawings, finish schedules, and production specifications Work closely with cabinetmakers, installers, and project managers to meet deadlines Follow safety procedures for handling finishing materials and equipment Qualifications 3+ years of experience in high-end wood finishing or architectural millwork finishing Strong understanding of wood species, veneers, stains, and finishing systems Experience with catalyzed finishes, polyurethane, conversion varnish, and lacquer systems Ability to produce consistent furniture-grade finishes Knowledge of sanding techniques and surface preparation Skilled in spray application and finish correction Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship mindset Preferred Qualifications Experience in luxury residential millwork Familiarity with European finishing systems Knowledge of color theory and advanced stain matching Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Work Environment Woodshop and spray booth environment Exposure to finishing materials and woodworking equipment Use of PPE including respirators, gloves, and eye protection required Salary Competitive pay based on experience Overtime opportunities may be available Benefits may include health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plans
