Fort Lupton High School Salary Information Salary Range:
$48,000 $103,560, based on the 20252026 Salary Schedule. All verified years of relevant experience will be credited based on education and experience. This position may qualify for up to five additional steps on the certified salary schedule, depending on education and experience. Tuition reimbursement opportunities are available to support continued professional growth. Position Summary The High School Counselor provides a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program aligned to the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model. The counselor collaborates with students, families, staff, and community partners to promote academic achievement, college and career readiness, and social-emotional development for all students. Qualifications for the Position Master's degree (M.A.) from an accredited graduate program in School Counseling Hold or be able to obtain a Colorado Special Services Provider License in School Counseling issued by the Colorado Department of Education Experience providing individual, small group, and classroom counseling services Knowledge of child abuse and neglect reporting procedures and child protection laws Understanding of ALP, Section 504, RTI/MTSS, and Special Education referral processes Demonstrated skills in solution-focused counseling, psychoeducational group facilitation, trauma-informed practices, and crisis intervention Experience in academic advising, registration, and scheduling Ability to collect, analyze, and disaggregate student data to guide program development and student interventions Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, families, mental health teams, special education teams, administrators, and community partners Knowledge of the ASCA National Model and ASCA Ethical Standards Commitment to equity and supporting diverse student populations Ability to create and support transition programs that increase student engagement and postsecondary readiness Participation in ongoing professional learning and district-wide collaboration Application Process Please submit an online application at www.weld8.org along with:

Internal applicants should submit a letter of interest, three letters of recommendation, and a current resume to Michael Kimbrough, High School Principal, at Michael Kimbrough. Closing Date Open until filled. Conditions of Employment Start date to be determined. Counselors work a 195-day calendar (teachers work 185 days). Ten additional days are scheduled by the principal to support student registration and end-of-year activities. All employment contracts are subject to approval by the Board of Education. Direct deposit of payroll is required. The District maintains a smoke-free environment in all buildings. The selected candidate must comply with the District's Drug-Free Workplace policy. In accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), the selected candidate must verify authorization to work in the United States within 72 hours of employment.
