CENTURY GOLF PARTNERS MANAGEMENT
Starter / Players Assistant (PGA WEST Pete Dye Mountain & Dunes Courses) Position Description
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a fast-paced position that involves welcoming and assisting members and guests on the golf course. A Starter / Players Assistant monitors pace of play and golf course decorum. Successful candidates will display a hard work ethic and the ability to interact with our members and guests in a friendly manner. This is a part-time seasonal position.
Time Period:
October to May, subject to business needs.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Must have golf knowledge and experience (golf course etiquette, pace of play & care of the course) Punctuality; Friendly and outgoing personality Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Basic computer skills and understanding Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Can work early shifts (starting at 6:00am) or closing shifts (based on Sunset)
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Welcome members and guests on the first tee or tenth tee. Inform them of important golf course information prior to teeing off (dress code, course conditions and restrictions, hole location, etc.) Confirm guest registration prior to teeing off. Monitor the following when scheduled to be a ranger on the golf course: Ensure good pace-of-play.
Enforce golf course policy:
dress code, golf car usage, etc. Prevent unauthorized persons from using facilities. Care of the
Golf Course:
from time-to-time rake bunkers, fix ball marks, sweep tee mats, etc. Any other necessary duties that aid the health and care of players and courses.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly. Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately. Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations. Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure. Must be able to lift 20 lbs. Must be able to stand on feet majority of the day.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed outdoors with exposure to extreme heat/humidity. Occasional inside help as needed.
