Sports Management Full Job Description About Us:

Lauderdale Yacht Club is a Premiere Private Club open to Members and Guests only near downtown Fort Lauderdale focusing on a family friendly experience for its Members and Guests. We provide food and beverage services, (fine dining and upscale casual dining) social activities, with sailing, tennis, fitness center, an Olympic size swimming pool, and summer camp and other activities for children. We are a Platinum Club of America. This is a Part Time Position with a schedule of approximately 10-20 hours per week which includes daytime, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed. Background Screening and Drug Testing Required including Marijuana. RSPA or PTR Certification preferred. Private Club experience preferred. Education and/or

Experience:

Undergraduate major in Physical Education or Sports Management desirable. Collegiate team experience desirable, preferably with a 4.5 or above rating. Experience running junior development programs. Knowledge of court maintenance.

Licenses and Special Requirement:

Certification with either Racquet Sports Professional Association (RSPA) or Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) desirable. Job Summary Conduct clinics and provide lessons to adults and children. Assist with all club tennis activities including events, exhibitions, and tournaments. Strive to ensure maximum member and guest satisfaction with tennis activities and programs. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule which will include evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Plans and directs instructional programs. Provides lessons and clinics for Members and guests relating to the techniques and strategies of tennis. Organizes, administers, and officiates at tournaments, exhibitions, and inter-club and intra-club social events. Administers and enforces club tennis policies and procedures regarding play on club courts. Reports maintenance, repair, and cleaning of courts needed to Director of Tennis. Writes and edits tennis-related news for the club's Mainsheet. Assists with the tennis shop as needed. Ensures that all Club Members and guests receive courteous, prompt and professional attention to all their tennis needs. Markets tennis facilities to Members and guests. Assists Director of Tennis with developing a detailed annual calendar of tennis activities and applicable promotion campaigns during the tennis season. Maintains a close working relationship with other club professionals. Maintains accurate records of all lessons and clinics given; provides monthly written reports as needed and provides weekly lessons/clinics information for payroll processing. Inspects and maintains all physical areas constantly. Participates on all committees related to the tennis operation as needed. Assists Director of Tennis to coordinate food and beverage service support for tennis events. Is visibly present on the courts during peak periods of play.
