[Hourly + Lesson Commissions] About Gulf Harbour Gulf Harbour Yacht & Country Club is a premier private, member-owned club situated along the Caloosahatchee River in Fort Myers, Florida. Our waterfront setting, exceptional amenities, and commitment to personalized service create an extraordinary experience for our Members and Guests. Our tennis program is among the most active in Southwest Florida, serving approximately 400 active players across more than 20 men's and women's leagues. The program features eight beautifully maintained courts, professional instruction, competitive league play, clinics, tournaments, and social events. We are seeking an accomplished and service-driven Tennis Professional to join our established team and uphold the exceptional standards associated with Gulf Harbour. Position Summary The Tennis Professional is responsible for delivering exceptional instruction and creating engaging tennis experiences for Members and Guests of varying ages and skill levels. This individual will provide private and group instruction, support league and tournament programming, and foster meaningful relationships throughout the tennis community. Success in this position requires more than strong playing and teaching ability. The ideal candidate will demonstrate polished communication, sound judgment, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to anticipating and exceeding Member expectations. Essential Responsibilities Provide high-quality private, semi-private, and group tennis instruction. Lead thoughtfully structured clinics, drills, camps, and player-development programs. Tailor instruction to each player's ability, goals, and learning style. Support men's, women's, mixed, and junior league programming. Assist with the planning and execution of tournaments, round robins, mixers, exhibitions, and Member events. Develop positive relationships with Members and maintain an active presence within the tennis community. Welcome new Members and introduce them to appropriate programs, playing groups, and Club resources. Promote lessons, clinics, leagues, and special events through professional Member communication. Maintain accurate lesson schedules, attendance records, and program information. Ensure courts, teaching equipment, and surrounding areas consistently meet Club presentation and safety standards. Collaborate with fellow professionals and Club departments to deliver a seamless Member experience. Represent Gulf Harbour with professionalism, discretion, enthusiasm, and integrity. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Tennis. Qualifications RSPA/USPTA or PTR professional certification required. Minimum of three years of tennis teaching or coaching experience; private club, resort, or comparable hospitality experience strongly preferred. Strong competitive playing background and the ability to demonstrate proper technique. Demonstrated success instructing adult and junior players across a range of skill levels. Experience supporting leagues, tournaments, clinics, and tennis-related social events. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Refined, service-oriented approach with the ability to anticipate Member needs. Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with the standards of a premier private club. Ability to exercise sound judgment and handle Member requests with professionalism and discretion. CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain certification within the required introductory period. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as Club programming requires.
