We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast‑paced hospitality-focused property organization. Assistant Tennis & Pickleball Professional Wellen Park Golf & Country Club is excited to offer an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious and motivated Assistant Tennis & Pickleball Professional. This position is ideal for a professional who is passionate about teaching and player development while also seeking hands-on experience in all aspects of a successful racquet sports operation. We are looking for an individual who wants to grow beyond teaching and develop skills in programming, retail operations, administration, member engagement, and facility management, with a clear pathway toward future leadership opportunities, including advancement into a Court Sports Director role.
General Description:
This position will work closely with the Court Sports Director and assist in all aspects of the racquet sports operation, including instruction, programming, events, pro shop management, administrative responsibilities, and daily facility operations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop leadership, business, and operational skills while helping grow one of the premier tennis and pickleball programs in the region.
Essential Duties:
Assist with beginning through advanced instruction (private and group) for all levels and ages of players. Teach and promote tennis and pickleball clinics, private lessons, leagues, camps, social events, and specialty programs. Develop safe, professional, and comprehensive lesson plans that encourage long-term player development and participation. Assist in organizing, marketing, and executing member events, tournaments, leagues, and social activities. Help oversee daily court operations and ensure proper court usage and fee collection. Ensure students understand rules, scoring procedures, safety guidelines, and proper etiquette. Enforce all club rules and regulations governing the use of club facilities and equipment. Perform racquet stringing services. Assist with pro shop operations, including merchandising, inventory management, retail sales, and member service. Learn and assist with administrative functions such as program registration, lesson scheduling, reporting, communications, and member outreach. Build strong relationships with members and guests through exceptional service and engagement. Quickly and efficiently respond to member questions, comments, and concerns in a professional and positive manner. Assist in the growth and development of the overall court sports program. Incorporate safe work practices in all job responsibilities. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required. USPTA, PTR, PPR, RSPA, or equivalent professional certification preferred or required. Prior teaching experience in tennis and/or pickleball preferred. Experience in hospitality, club operations, retail, or customer service is a plus.
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, walks, uses hands, talks, hears, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Occasionally sits. Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. Environment /
Noise:
Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Skill level equivalent to a minimum 4.0 USTA rating preferred. Ability to read and speak English proficiently. Basic computer, email, and club management software skills. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, outgoing, and positive attitude. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build lasting relationships with members and team members. Highly organized with excellent time management skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced club environment. Strong desire to learn all aspects of court sports operations and business management. Thorough knowledge of tennis and pickleball fundamentals, teaching methods, and player development. Self-motivated with leadership potential and a growth mindset.
