Full Job Description Overview:
Country Club of Asheville is seeking an energetic, service-minded Tennis Professional to join our growing racquet sports team. This hands-on, member-facing role is an excellent opportunity for a passionate tennis professional who enjoys teaching, building relationships, and creating memorable member experiences in one of North Carolina's most desirable mountain communities. Working closely with the Director of Tennis and Pickleball, this position will support a full calendar of lessons, clinics, camps, socials, tournaments, events, and daily racquet sports operations. Compensation & Benefits Compensation includes an hourly base rate, clinic rates, and performance-based commissions tied to lessons, programming, and member engagement. This role offers strong earning potential for a motivated professional, with income opportunities growing as the pro builds relationships, increases participation, and becomes established within the club. Full-time team members are eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and a daily complimentary staff meal. Why Join Us? Responsibilities:
Instruct and assist with private lessons, clinics, camps, and instructional programming for players of all ages and skill levels Play a key role in the continued growth and development of the junior tennis program through clinics, camps, events, and member engagement Build positive relationships with junior players and families while creating a fun, welcoming, and encouraging learning environment Support socials, tournaments, events, and racquet sports activities Help promote and grow overall tennis and pickleball participation within the club Provide exceptional service to members and guests Maintain tennis shop operations, including court bookings, phone calls, emails, and daily member support Perform racquet stringing and assist with court maintenance as needed Attend staff meetings, trainings, and support additional department needs as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous experience teaching tennis in a club, camp, academy, or recreational setting preferred Passion for growing junior tennis and creating a positive experience for players and families Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with members of all ages Energetic, outgoing, and service-oriented personality Ability to lead clinics, camps, socials, and private lessons in a professional and engaging manner Willingness to assist with all aspects of racquet sports operations, including events, shop coverage, and court maintenance Racquet stringing experience is a plus, but not required Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed USPTA or PTR certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification Collegiate playing experience or high-level competitive playing background preferred Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced private club environment
Salary Range:
USD $45,000.00 - USD $75,000.00 /Yr.
