Overview We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Hurdles / Sprint Coach to inspire and develop high school athletes in their pursuit of excellence. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with athletes of various skill levels, from beginners to advanced competitors, helping them improve their sprinting and hurdle techniques while fostering a positive and motivating environment. As a key member of our coaching team, you will deliver specialized training programs, promote safe practices, and encourage athletes to reach their full potential through expert guidance and enthusiastic support. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive hurdles and sprint training programs tailored to individual athlete needs and skill levels Provide hands-on coaching during practice sessions, focusing on proper technique, form, speed development, and injury prevention Monitor athlete progress through regular assessments and adjust training plans accordingly to optimize performance USATF Level 1 / Level 2 certification is a plus Foster a positive team environment by encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and motivation among athletes Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and other coaching staff to provide updates on progress and address concerns Ensure all training activities adhere to health and safety standards while promoting injury prevention strategies AED, CPR, and First Aid certification is a plus Requirements Must already have up-to-date
Clearances:
FBI, State, and Child Abuse clearances Proven experience in sports coaching with a focus on hurdles and sprints Must attend practices (starting at 3:30pm) and meets (nights & weekends) Strong background in sports-specific training instruction for speed development and hurdling techniques Prior experience working with youth athletes in a coaching capacity Knowledge of safety procedures including first aid, CPR certification, AED operation, concussion protocol, and emergency response operations Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with athletes of diverse backgrounds and skill levels Demonstrated leadership abilities in team settings with a focus on behavior management and motivation Ability to work in a physically active environment requiring standing, walking, and demonstrating athletic movements for extended periods Join us as a Hurdles / Sprint Coach if you're passionate about helping athletes excel while creating a fun, safe atmosphere that promotes growth both physically and personally.
