Padel & Pickleball Professional Confidential Middletown, RI Job Details Part-time | Full-time $40 - $60 an hour 2 days ago Qualifications Professional networking Customer communication Program design Interpersonal skills Customer service Teaching Full Job Description Newport Pickleball Club | Newport, Rhode Island Position Overview Newport Pickleball Club is seeking an energetic, personable, and experienced Padel & Pickleball Professional to join our racquets team. This position will play an important role in the continued growth of our pickleball and padel programs while providing an outstanding experience for our members and guests. The ideal candidate is passionate about racquet sports, enjoys teaching players of all ages and abilities, and brings positive energy to the court. In addition to instruction, this professional will assist with clinics, leagues, open plays, tournaments, social events, and overall racquet programming. Primary Responsibilities Teach private, semi-private, and group lessons in pickleball and padel. Lead instructional clinics for beginner through advanced players. Conduct introductory and Learn-to-Play programs for new players. Run drill-and-play clinics, coached match play, open plays, round robins, and other organized programming. Assist with the development and growth of the club's pickleball and padel programs. Help organize and run leagues, tournaments, member events, social events, and special programming. Evaluate player levels and help members select appropriate clinics, leagues, and open-play sessions. Create a welcoming, high-energy environment that encourages player development and participation. Build strong relationships with members and contribute to the club community. Maintain professional standards for court safety, etiquette, sportsmanship, and equipment. Assist the Director of Racquet Sports with programming, scheduling, special events, and other departmental responsibilities as needed. Work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on programming needs. Qualifications Strong playing and teaching background in pickleball and/or padel. Previous racquet-sports teaching experience preferred. Pickleball and/or padel teaching certification preferred. Candidates with a strong background in one sport and a willingness to develop professionally in the other are encouraged to apply. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills. Ability to work with beginners through advanced-level players. Comfortable teaching juniors, adults, competitive players, and recreational players. Energetic, dependable, organized, and professional. Strong understanding of match play, strategy, player development, and racquet-sports programming. Ability to create a fun and engaging environment while maintaining high instructional standards. Ability to work independently and as part of a racquets team. What We're Looking For We are looking for more than just a strong player. The successful candidate will enjoy being on the court, connect well with members, and be excited to help build and grow our programs. Experience in both pickleball and padel is a plus, but we are also interested in professionals who have a strong background in one sport and are motivated to learn, grow, and become excellent instructors in both. Position Expectations This is a hands-on position with a significant amount of on-court instruction. Compensation may include teaching commissions and additional compensation based on responsibilities and experience. The Padel & Pickleball Professional will report to the Director of Racquet Sports and work closely with the club's professional staff to deliver high-quality programming and exceptional member service.
