Job Description

Artisan Bread BakerDo you love bread? Brickmaiden Breads is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to join our bakehouse crew and make amazing bread with us!
About Us:
Our bakery is located in downtown Point Reyes Station. Over the last 25 years, we've established a reputation for delicious, high-quality, naturally-leavened breads. We mill some of our own flour, and source the rest from Central Milling. We sell to wholesale accounts, at farmer's markets, and through our caf and retail space that opened in 2019. The kitchen side of the business also makes pastries, savory lunch items, and a line of packaged goods.
Our Values:
We strive to build community with our staff; the farmers, producers, and businesses we work with; and with our neighbors and customers. Every day that we bake for customers, we also bake for our local food bank. We believe in environmental sustainability we source local and responsibly produced ingredients, and minimize our waste and packaging. We also believe in human sustainability we want to make this a good place to work! We have a close-knit team, we all genuinely enjoy each other, and we like to have fun, even if (when!) this place gets crazy.

About the
Job:
Our bakers work on all parts of the grain-to-loaf process. Once fully trained, bakers mill flour, mix dough, shape loaves, and bake bread.
Requirements and Schedule:
We have a food industry work schedule, four eight-to-ten-hour days per week with weekend and early-morning shifts. Mixers start at dawn, shapers start in the late morning, and the baker can start as early as 1:30am.

The hiring process includes a paid stage, so we have a chance to spend some time with each other.

We prefer to work with nice people who are excited about bread and have good common sense. Experience would be good, but is not necessary. A sense of humor is a plus.

Ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours and lift 50 pounds.
Reliability:
Be on time, do what you say you'll do, communicate well, bring a positive attitude.
Flexibility:
This is a small operation. We want to cross-train so that everyone is able to do every job in the bakehouse. There are frequent changes so the ability to go with the flow is essential!

Strong communication skills: Ask questions, follow directions, work collaboratively.
