Waldscraft Bakery About Us Waldscraft Bakery started small — literally in a home kitchen during the pandemic — and grew into a Marin favorite through hard work, and showing up week after week at farmers markets across the county. Today we run a commercial bakery in San Rafael, baking artisan breads, croissants, muffins, cookies, and pastries for farmers markets and a growing list of catering and custom orders. We're a small, hands-on team that cares about doing things the right way — organic ingredients, natural leavening, real technique — and about the people we do it with. The Roles We are hiring both experienced Bakers who value excellence as much as we do and have experience with artisan bread-making and or lamination, as well as skilled kitchen professionals with an interest in learning new skills If you've worked a line, run prep, or spent real time in a professional kitchen, you already have the foundation — knife skills, timing, multitasking under pressure, following a system, keeping a clean station. We'll teach you our techniques, and our standards from the ground up. What we're looking for is someone dedicated and hard-working who wants to learn. We're hiring for both our daytime and night shifts:
Daytime Prep:
mixing and developing doughs and batters, laminating, shaping, portioning, and prepping ingredients. You'll work closely with the rest of the prep team to keep production moving and set up our overnight bakers for success. We have some flexibility on scheduling for the right fit.
Night Baker:
You'll be responsible for baking off breads, croissants, and pastries, managing multiple bakes at once, and making sure everything comes out of the oven ontime and gorgeous each morning. This role needs someone who's comfortable working independently, following a system closely, is willing to learn our methods, and takes pride in getting the details right. We have some flexibility on scheduling for the right fit. What You'll Bring Real kitchen experience — prep cook, line cook, or similar professional kitchen background (baking experience is a plus, not a requirement) A strong work ethic and interest in learning Comfort working efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment Ability to work independently and follow procedures closely Reliability — we depend on a team that shows up on time everytime Food handler certification required Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods What We Offer Full training in naturally leavened bread, laminated doughs, and our full production process Pay based on experience Full-time or part-time — we have some flexibility here for the right team members A tight-knit team and a genuine seat at the table in a growing local bakery The chance to see your work show up at farmers markets across Marin every week How to
