Job Summary:

As a Baker this position supports their team in providing excellent baked items in an efficient and professional manner. This role will also complete the duties of an internal Transfer Driver and will be responsible for transporting Spruce products and other items between company locations, upholding the highest quality and safety standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Follow recipes to measure and combine ingredients using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment to make baked goods as needed. Test ingredients and finished goods to ensure that each item meets food safety and quality controls. Clean and restock workstations and ensure that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift. Bake-off all pastries and other morning products in a timely manner consistent with Spruce product standards. Maintain records relating to orders, inventory, and production levels as needed. Transfer applicable products to other locations in a timely manner. Verify the quality of products prior to the transfer and communicate any issues to managers or team members. Proactive communication with all applicable parties and locations regarding any issues or transfer status updates. Utilize First In, First Out (FIFO) method in which inventory acquired first is used or disposed of first. Handle all transfer items with care when loading and unloading the delivery van. Ensure products delivered arrive in good condition. Navigate planned transfer routes safely and efficiently. Able and willing to change a tire when needed and requests training if needed. Fill the delivery van with gas when necessary, using a company issued gas card. Keep the delivery van interior clean and free of trash or spills. Obeys all traffic laws. Utilize OSHA standards of safety and report any safety concerns to management immediately. Other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Reliable, responsible, consistently on time and meets spruce standards. Able to work independently and as a team. Basic computer and math skills. Ability to maintain consistent, predictable punctuality for shifts. Strong communication, time and resource management. Attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

Must have a valid drivers license. Clean driving record required. High school diploma or equivalent. Related experience preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in hot, hectic environments. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, using hands and appliances.

$19.00 - $20.00 per hour
