  • 85,000 + Bonus Opportunity Help us build something special. Butterdrop Bakeshop is a new, high-end bakery opening in Denver, and we're looking for an experienced Head Baker & Production Manager to help us build our bakery operation from the ground up.
    This is more than a Head Baker position. We're looking for someone who loves making exceptional baked goods and knows how to run production
  • planning what to bake each day, managing a team, forecasting quantities, ordering ingredients, controlling food and labor costs, and making sure everything that leaves our kitchen is consistently excellent.

  • Lead daily bakery production and work hands-on alongside the team
  • Create daily and weekly production plans based on sales, demand and special orders
  • Determine production quantities, batch sizes and par levels
  • Manage and schedule the baking/production team
  • Own ingredient ordering, inventory and supplier relationships
  • Monitor food costs, labor, waste and production efficiency
  • Standardize recipes, yields, portions and production processes
  • Ensure exceptional consistency, taste, freshness and presentation
  • Help develop new, seasonal and signature Butterdrop products
  • Maintain excellent food safety, sanitation and kitchen organization
  • Help recruit, train and develop a talented bakery team
  • Build the systems and processes that will allow Butterdrop to grow What We're Looking For
  • Professional production bakery or high-volume pastry experience
  • Previous experience as a Head Baker, Lead Baker, Production Manager, Pastry Chef or similar leadership role
  • Experience planning bakery production
  • not just following a production list
  • Experience managing and scheduling bakery employees
  • Strong knowledge of ingredient ordering and inventory management
  • Understanding of food cost, labor cost, yields and waste management
  • Strong baking and pastry fundamentals
  • Ability to maintain exceptional quality while producing at volume
  • Organized, proactive and comfortable taking ownership
  • Excited about creating systems and building something new Experience with premium pastries, cakes, cookies, macarons or French-inspired baked goods is a plus, but strong production leadership and bakery operations experience are most important to us. Compensation $75,000
  • 85,000 annual salary, based on experience, plus bonus opportunity.
