WHSKD — Miami, FL Independent Contractor | Recurring Production About
WHSKD WHSKD
is a Miami-based matcha and coffee brand known for its bold, nostalgic, playful aesthetic and elevated take on café culture. We are expanding our food program and are looking for a talented baker to become our contract production baker and help bring our signature baked goods to life. The Role We are looking for an experienced, reliable baker to oversee the production of WHSKD's baked goods on a recurring basis. The ideal candidate is an independent baker who already has access to a licensed/permitted commercial or commissary kitchen. However, we are also open to candidates who have strong commercial baking experience and are comfortable working in a commissary kitchen, as WHSKD can provide/pay for commercial kitchen space for production when needed and agreed upon. This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not a traditional in-house bakery employee role. WHSKD will provide proprietary recipes, product specifications, flavor concepts, quantities, and quality standards. The baker will be responsible for producing our baked goods consistently and having completed orders ready by agreed-upon deadlines. Responsibilities Produce WHSKD cookies and other baked goods according to our recipes and specifications Follow recipes precisely while maintaining consistency in taste, texture, size, weight, and appearance Prepare recurring weekly production orders Scale recipes accurately based on required production volume Ensure all products are completed by agreed-upon deadlines Maintain consistent quality from batch to batch Communicate proactively regarding production capacity, ingredient needs, or potential delays Assist with testing and developing new baked goods and seasonal flavors Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe production environment Properly store ingredients and finished products Follow applicable food-safety, sanitation, storage, and labeling requirements Maintain confidentiality regarding WHSKD recipes and proprietary product information
Requirements Required:
Professional or commercial baking experience Strong knowledge of baking fundamentals Experience working in a commercial or commissary kitchen Ability to independently operate within a professional kitchen environment Strong attention to detail and consistency Ability to follow recipes and specifications precisely Ability to scale recipes for production Reliable and able to consistently meet deadlines Strong communication and organization Knowledge of food safety and proper food handling Ability to produce consistent batches at increasing volumes Portfolio, photos, or examples of previous baking work
Kitchen Requirements Preferred:
Candidate has their own commercial/commissary kitchen access or currently operates their own baking business.
Also considered:
Candidates who do not currently have their own kitchen but have substantial commercial baking experience and are comfortable working independently in a commissary kitchen. WHSKD has the ability to provide/pay for commercial kitchen space for production when necessary, so having your own kitchen is preferred but not required. Candidates should be comfortable working efficiently and independently in a shared commercial kitchen environment.
Pay:
$500.00 - $600.00 per week
