Role Description The Prep Cook / Baker is a part-time (1099) on-site role based in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. This position is responsible for supporting daily pastry and savory production through ingredient preparation, filling production, baking assistance, and kitchen organization. Daily responsibilities include peeling and preparing approximately 60-80 pounds of potatoes per week, processing vegetables and fruits, producing sweet and savory fillings, scaling ingredients, and preparing spices for production. The role requires the weekly preparation of approximately 500 grams of cardamom in both powdered and cracked form to support seasonal menu offerings. The Prep Cook / Baker will assist in the preparation of Bourgeoisie Patisserie's menu and seasonal offerings. Responsibilities also include assisting with mixing, baking, assembling, packaging, and maintaining ingredient inventory while ensuring all food safety and sanitation standards are consistently followed. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable performing high-volume prep work while maintaining the quality standards that define the Bourgeoisie Patisserie brand. Qualifications Strong food preparation and baking skills, including experience with doughs, batters, fillings, and recipe execution. Ability to accurately scale, weigh, and portion ingredients for consistent production. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and proper kitchen hygiene in a commercial environment. Experience preparing both sweet and savory menu components in a bakery, pastry, or culinary setting. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while managing multiple tasks and deadlines. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality and consistency. Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with kitchen staff and management. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive prep tasks, and lift ingredient containers and supplies. Previous experience in a bakery, patisserie, catering kitchen, or culinary operation is highly preferred. Culinary, pastry, or food service training is required. Requirements ServSafe Certification required . 2 - 4 years of bakery, pastry, prep cook, or commercial kitchen experience. Punctual, reliable, and self-motivated. Reliable transportation. Ability to lift 25-50 pounds regularly. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive kitchen preparation tasks. Availability for early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday production schedules as needed. Employment Type Part-Time 1099 Independent Contractor Compensation is based on experience and production needs, with opportunities for increased hours during holiday seasons, market schedules, and periods of expanded wholesale production.
