Fairburn, GA Job Summary:
The Bakery Assistant supports the baking team in daily production activities within the central kitchen. This role includes preparing ingredients, assisting with dough preparation, organizing trays, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring smooth workflow throughout the baking process. The Bakery Assistant plays a key role in maintaining product quality, consistency, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist bakers in preparing and producing breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods according to recipes and schedules.
  • Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients under the supervision of the baker.
  • Prepare trays, molds, and baking sheets for production.
  • Monitor ovens and help rotate or remove baked goods when needed.
  • Package, label, and organize finished products for delivery or storage.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic work area at all times.
  • Wash, sanitize, and store utensils, baking tools, and equipment properly.
  • Ensure ingredients and supplies are stocked and available during production.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and quality standards (HACCP or equivalent).
  • Assist in inventory checks and report low stock or damaged goods to supervisors.
  • Support other kitchen departments when needed to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Previous experience in a bakery, pastry kitchen, or food production environment preferred (but not required).
  • Basic understanding of baking processes and ingredients.
  • Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and safety guidelines accurately.
  • Good teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to a fast-paced production environment.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20-25 kg (45-55 lbs).
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing, bending, and moving for extended periods.
  • Working in warm, humid, or busy kitchen conditions.
  • Manual handling of ingredients and baking trays.
Work Environment:
The Bakery Assistant works in a central kitchen facility that produces baked goods in bulk for multiple outlets or locations. The role involves teamwork, time sensitivity, and adherence to strict hygiene and production standards.
Job Types:
