Job Description

Kahala Nui, considered Hawaii's premier Senior Living Community is looking for a full-time Pastry Cook . The Pastry Cook is responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting a variety of fresh pastries, desserts, and specialty baked goods for residents, guests, and special events within Kahala Nui.
Essential Duties:
Prepare baked goods according to established recipes and production schedules. Decorate and present baked items in an appealing manner. Monitor product quality, taste, appearance, and freshness. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients. Assist with menu planning and special event desserts. Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and infection-control standards. Properly store ingredients and finished products to maintain freshness and quality. Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils. High school diploma or equivalent. Previous baking experience in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, bakery, healthcare, hospitality, or senior living environment. Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food preparation methods. Understanding of food safety and sanitation requirements. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
