A Baker is central to the Panera essence of warmth and quality. Our breads and pastries are an important brand representative, embodying the knowledge expertise and commitment to baking bread and baked goods that help exemplify our �Concept Essence� at Panera. Fundamental Job Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions Bake the majority of a cafe's fresh bread and pastries. Ensure all Panera products are prepared according to Panera's standards. Meet the highest standards and consistency in food preparation, sanitation, and safety. Team player; accept responsibility for all tasks delegated by Management. Primarily work alone with minimal supervision. Perform operational activities such as stocking, prep, and sanitation. Work as a team with Management and fellow Team Members. Incorporate the concept essence and cultural values into daily operation of the bakery-cafe. Show respect for the equipment and facility by adhering to cleaning and proper operation. Physical Demands of the Essential Functions Ability to stand up for ten hours at a time. Ability to lift up to fifty pounds. Ability to move at a fast pace. Working Conditions While Performing the Essential Functions Evening/late night shift. Fast paced, multi-tasked environment. Qualifications Preferred Experience working in food preparation. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desire to learn and develop. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Enthusiasm, energy and positive attitude. Self-starter, able to work independently. Performance or Production Standards Complete knowledge of bakery menu items and preparation.
