Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
We're looking for a Bread Baker to join our bread team and grow with us. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some professional baking experience or culinary training who wants to deepen their knowledge of artisan bread, sourdough fermentation, and working with freshly milled flours. You'll be supporting all aspects of bread production in a high-volume environment while learning from experienced bakers.Key Responsibilities:
Assist with mixing, dividing, shaping, and baking a variety of breads (sourdoughs, yeasted loaves, baguettes, rolls). Follow production schedules, scaling, and recipe guidelines with attention to detail. Maintain cleanliness and organization in all prep and production areas. Learn to monitor dough fermentation, proofing, and baking times. Support the pastry and milling teams as needed (including assisting with laminated doughs or flour handling). Help with daily prep, packaging, and cleanup duties. Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members and supervisors.Qualifications:
6 months to 1 year of professional baking experience OR completion of a culinary/baking program. Genuine interest in artisan bread, sourdough, and traditional baking methods. Eagerness to learn and take direction from senior bakers. Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet for extended periods. Availability for early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as required. Interest in whole grains, milling, and pastry is a plus.REQUIREMENTS
Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program is desirable. ServSafe or other food safety management certification preferred. Knowledge of foodstuffs and food safety is essential. Good math skills helpful. Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation, including weights and measurements. Ability to communicate and understand directions and instructions in English (written and verbal), including basic cooking directions and recipes. Knowledge of the use of kitchen utensils, tools and equipment, including knife safety and working skills (cutting, chopping, slicing, etc.). Manual dexterity is essential. Must possess finger dexterity to use utensils, knives and equipment adeptly. Frequently required to taste and/or smell food being prepared utilizing sanitary means. Subject to wet or slippery floors, temperature extremes/frequent changes in temperature, and excessive noise. Able to work in hot temperatures and freezer/cooler areas for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, crouch, kneel, lift, push and pull. Properly lift up to 50- 75 pounds; push, pull or move items weighing up to 100 pounds. Ability to work varied hours/days in a fast-paced environment in accordance with restaurant operations and adhere to the attendance requirements of the restaurant/ production kitchen. Must adhere to the established appearance, hygiene, and uniform guidelines. Ability to adhere to and comply with all rules and regulations of the company, including in particular the rules for safe handling of food.General Comments:
