NEED MORNING AND AFTERNOON AVAILABILITY

Job Summary We need an energetic, friendly, outgoing person with good attention to detail to provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service. Bagging, and retrieving baked goods to put out on display. Ensuring the sales floor and processing areas are clean, sanitary, fresh and full. Customer service is provided primarily in Spanish and some in English.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store. Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner.

Assists customers by:

...answering any questions about our products ...bagging customer orders ...serving beverages ...operates cash register and credit card machine when customers pay for their bakery item s ...making note of and passing along customer suggestions or request s Performing other tasks in every way possible to enhance the shopping experience. Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. Arranges food, cakes, bread, rolls and other baked goods in an attractive manner in the display cases. Makes certain that displays are filled with products and not low on merchandise or empty. Verifies that customers who have communicated food allergies are not sold products that could be dangerous to their health. Keeps work areas sanitary by mopping floors and wiping counters to immediately clean up any spills. Contacting manager when a customers wants to place a cake or bread order. Cleaning of all merchandising tables and cases. Cleaning of beverage machines at end of day shift Maintenance cleaning when necessary Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress. Adheres to company policies and store guidelines. Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Insures that all food is handled in accordance with local health department regulations.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in other areas of store as needed. Help with cleaning duties. Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB

Must have the dexterity and technical ability necessary to operate a cash register, credit card machine, computer and pricing gun. Must be able to endure long hours of standing, walking around behind counters and bending to retrieve baked goods from display counters. Must have good communication skills and be willing to work with the general public. Must be patient with customers who are dissatisfied and understand when it is necessary to request assistance from a supervisor. Must have the ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions Ability to do simple addition and subtraction; copying figures, counting and recording. Possess the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies orally or in writing. Be able to lift up to 25-50 pounds. Visual requirements include clarity of vision at a distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet with color vision, depth perception and field of vision. Must be able to work shifts varying in length and time, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The duties for this position are normally conducted in a store environment. There is significant responsibility to maintain customer service levels and handle multiple priorities. Has occasional exposure to temperature extremes and cleaning chemicals/solvents.

Pay:

From $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 35.0 per week
