Job Description
Wild Oats is a fast paced café, bakery and market in Brunswick that specializes in "real food made by real people." Even with hundreds of products, everything is still made from scratch, with the high quality ingredients. We are hiring Part Time/Seasonal Morning Bakers to join our team! With our busy holiday season right around the corner, our seasonal position is the perfect flexible opportunity to work with your hands, enjoy a supportive and hard-working team, and create incredible from-scratch treats that will feed our community all season long! From September through the end of December, you will learn everything from pie dough making and crimping to making crumb topping, to whipping up our famous chocolate mousse! Whether you have some baking experience, or you are eager to learn-we are ready to train! This role will focus primarily on our fruit pie and cold pie production, but will also support our baking team in opening the bakery at 5:30am each day. This position requires at least 16 hours of work each week, but up to 30 hours of work per week. Our ideal candidate is able to work from 5:30am to at least 10:30am. Some weekend availability is necessary. This position is available from September through the end of December. Eligibility for a full time position may be considered at the end of this period, though not guaranteed. Your typical day might include Making and shaping Wild Oats pie dough Mixing and hand-shaping graham cracker crusts and Oreo crusts Preparing fruit fillings and braiding strudels Making our from scratch fillings for our cold pies Boxing and stickering finished products Filling, wrapping and stickering our whoopie pies Prep and cleaning projects that keep the day running smoothly Helping cut down our environmental impact by reusing, recycling and composting when possible Benefits A share of the tip pool Paid vacation Free meals and generous food discounts And a few you will not find anywhere else in
