In the serene and rustic setting of northern Michigan, you'll inspire the next generation of artists while embracing the beauty and challenges of wilderness living. Position Overview Join us in the summer of 2026 and help us continue the legacy of fostering creativity, nurturing talent, and celebrating the individual artistic journey at Interlochen. We are seeking efficient and friendly Bakers who embody our core values and are committed to nurturing young artists. As a Baker, you'll play a major role in providing meals to all campus residents while fully immersing yourself in the unique environment that only a summer camp can offer. What You Get To Do Prepare breads, pastries, and desserts for daily meal service and special events Monitor ovens, batch sizes, and production timing for high-volume output Collaborate with catering and kitchen teams to meet service needs Maintain a clean, organized bakery workspace and follow food safety standards Support inventory tracking and ordering of bakery supplies What You Get Compensation starting at $20/hour
Referral Bonus Eligible:
Bring a friend! If you refer someone to this position who works full-time and completes their contract in good standing, you will receive a $500 bonus. Flexible start and end dates for the summer season. Early sign-on bonus and successful completion bonuses are available for $50/each. Meals provided for each shift worked. 10% tuition discount for Discovery Camp or 50% Interlochen Arts Camp for dependents 20% discount for tickets to most summer concerts. 15% discount on merchandise from Scholarshop and food/beverages from Melody Freeze Experience in both artisan and large-scale baking production Exposure to catering and specialty dessert preparation A creative outlet within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment This is a seasonal position located in Interlochen, Michigan. Housing is not included for this position , and employees are responsible for arranging their own accommodations.
Experience and Skills:
What You Need Availability 6/17/2026 - 8/12/2026 Previous related experience working in food service a plus. Able to work in an outdoor environment for an extended period. Applicant must be at least 18 years of age at time of application. Must understand basic safety and sanitation regulations Be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees Be able to follow verbal and written instructions Must be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time, sometimes up to 4 hours Able to work in hot and humid conditions Able to work early morning shifts and weekends What to Expect about Camp Life Embrace the
