ST. CLAIR COUNTY TECHNICAL EDUCATION CENTER

CATERER-BAKER

FULL-TIME

CATERING STAFF
POSITION SUMMARY:

The Caterer-Baker provides a variety of support services while assigned to the Catering/Hot Lunch program for the RESA Campus. This position is primarily for an experienced Baker-Cake and Cookie Decorator and Cook. Services may include any or all of the following: cooking, baking, cake and sugar cookie decorating, food prep, assisting other Catering staff, inventory management, and food delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent.

Successful food preparation and cooking experience in restaurants, hospitals, schools, etc.

Demonstrated ability to work with high school-aged youth successfully.

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Must be able to work long hours while standing.

Ability to work as a team member.

Knowledge and/or certification in Serve Safe Sanitation.

Must have a valid driver's license and any necessary endorsements required to drive the catering van as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Have cake and pastries-baking and decorating skills.

Work cooperatively with instructional staff, food service department, and administration.

Assist with preparing meals, snacks, and catering events as needed.

Communicate effectively with students, instructional staff, catering staff, and administration.

Work flexible schedule throughout the year, including possible nights and weekends.

Detection of burning, spoilage, and freshness of food products.

Prepare foods while following a recipe.

Deliver a high level of customer service at all times.

Work with Square, or a cash payment system.

CONDITIONS

OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment Date:

Pending School Board approval and completion of pre-employment, drug screen, and background checks.

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 2:30 pm

School Year Position (185 days) and summer hours, as needed (not to exceed 261 days per year)

Wage:

$18.00-$20.00 per hour based on demonstrated skill and ability
