Job Description
About Us Bestow Baked Goods is a from-scratch bakery in Holly Springs built around one idea: good things are meant to be shared. We make cakes, cookies, and pastries that people love giving as much as eating. We're a small, focused team that takes the work seriously and cares about doing it well. If you're someone who finds satisfaction in clean finishes, consistent work, and being part of something that matters, you'll feel at home here. About the Role As a Cake Decorator at Bestow, you'll bring our aesthetic to life on every cake that goes out the door. We've streamlined our cake program so you're working from clear design templates and Cake Design Briefs — no guesswork, just skilled execution. That means your focus stays where it belongs: on craftsmanship, consistency, and finishing work you're proud of. You'll decorate celebration cakes and cupcakes on a regular basis, and you'll also prepare and deliver wedding cakes on weekends. It's a role with real variety, a predictable rhythm, and a team that genuinely appreciates good work. This is not an entry-level or training role. We're looking for someone who can execute independently from day one. Beginning Schedule Requirements Wednesday and Thursday are production days Friday, Saturday and Sunday availability is required for wedding cake deliveries Fridays will be added as an additional production day as competency is demonstrated and we can increase cake order volume. The more quickly you can execute our cakes independently and consistently, the more quickly hours become available. Our Hiring Process We review portfolios before scheduling interviews. If your work looks like a strong fit we'll invite you in for a conversation and a brief hands-on skills trial — you'll be asked to stack, fill, and cover a cake with smooth buttercream and demonstrate basic piping techniques. This helps us make sure the role is the right fit for both of us. About You You have real cake decorating experience and a portfolio or examples you're proud to share You can execute smooth buttercream coverage consistently You can pipe a clean shell border, buttercream swirls, and write neatly You have a strong eye for detail — you can tell when a cake isn't level, clean, or finished to standard, and you correct it before it leaves your station You're comfortable working from design briefs and executing them accurately and consistently You have a valid driver's license and are comfortable delivering wedding cakes to venues You're dependable, organized, and work well as part of a team You take food safety and cleanliness seriously Compensation $14.50/hr + tip share. Tip share typically adds $1-$2 per hour, bringing effective take-home to around $15.50-$16.50/hr.
