Part of Coast Restaurant Group, RISE Newport is a fast-paced, from-scratch kitchen on a mission to "Feed Your Dream" — known for handcrafted baked goods, fresh breakfast items, and a team that takes real pride in the details. You'll be part of a small, tight-knit team where your work is visible and valued — not lost in a big-kitchen shuffle. The Role We're looking for a passionate, skilled, experienced Baker to lead the production of our handcrafted baked goods — someone with a strong work ethic, creativity in the kitchen, and a deep commitment to food excellence. What You'll Do Prepare a daily rotation of pastries, breads, breakfast items, and specialty offerings from scratch, following standardized recipes Own quality control — flavor, texture, freshness, and presentation on every item Manage ingredient prep and monitor stock, flagging shortages before they become problems Bring ideas for new baked items or seasonal offerings that keep the menu fresh Support front-of-house during busy lunch hours when needed, then return to production Follow food safety and sanitation standards, keeping your station clean and compliant at all times What We're Looking For 1-2+ years of experience in a commercial bakery, café, or food production kitchen Proficiency across baking techniques — dough proofing, temperature control, pastry preparation Comfort with mixers, ovens, dough sheeters, and scales Strong food safety knowledge (ServSafe certification a plus) Able to work early morning shifts and manage time well under pressure Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Pay:
$19.00 - $24.00 per hour
