JOB SUMMARY
As our Lead Baker / Fudge Maker , you will take ownership of producing our signature handcrafted fudge and high-quality baked goods. In addition to daily production, you will lead back-of-house ingredient management—monitoring stock levels, forecasting supply needs, and ordering/coordinating ingredient shipments to the store as needed to ensure seamless operations without stockouts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Artisanal Production:
Produce a consistent variety of fudge flavors and baked goods following precise recipes, maintaining strict standards for taste, texture, and visual presentation.
Inventory Management & Supply Ordering:
Take full ownership of ingredient stock levels. Conduct routine inventory counts, track usage trends, and directly order and arrange shipments of raw materials and packaging supplies as needed to keep the store fully stocked.
Quality Assurance & Testing:
Perform quality checks and batch testing to guarantee product consistency, freshness, and adherence to house standards.
Sanitation & Food Safety:
Enforce strict health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Ensure proper ingredient storage, routine equipment maintenance, workspace cleaning, and strict FIFO (first-in, first-out) stock rotation.
Product Innovation:
Collaborate with management to develop, test, and launch new seasonal fudge flavors and bakery offerings.
Packaging & Merchandising:
Oversee the packaging, labeling, and presentation of finished products so they meet brand standards for retail display and customer sales.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate daily logs for batch production, ingredient usage, and supplier receipts.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Previous experience in commercial baking, confectionery, or kitchen production (leadership or inventory management experience strongly preferred).
Supply Chain Skills:
Demonstrated ability to track inventory, anticipate supply needs, and place vendor orders accurately and on schedule. Attention to
Detail:
Excellent eye for quality consistency, recipe precision, and visual presentation.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods, work comfortably in hot kitchen environments, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Certifications:
Current Food Handler's Card
COMPENSATION & APPLYING
Pay:
Competitive and negotiable based on experience. % of house tips distribution based on hours
Schedule:
Full-time, Part-Time, Contract ~30 Hrs/WK flexible schedule options.
